Trigence Launches Quickstart Program to Jumpstart Application Virtualization Initiatives
Fortune 1000 Companies and ISV Now Have a Proven Method to Test Application Virtualization Technology
Jan. 23, 2008 04:00 PM
Trigence announced it will deliver an application
virtualization Quickstart program for organizations considering Trigence’s
solutions to reduce the complexity of application and infrastructure
management. In addition, Trigence announced support of several leading
applications including Oracle 9i, Oracle 10g, Oracle Application Server, Apache
Web Server and Sybase.
The Trigence Quickstart program is a two-day, no cost
engagement that incorporates a best-practices methodology to help customers
learn about the benefits of application virtualization and experience a proof
of concept. The process is designed to showcase the ease of
implementation and effectiveness of the Trigence solution by creating,
configuring and testing applications within Trigence capsules.
“Trigence has found a widespread misconception surrounding
the implementation of virtualization solutions, specifically application
virtualization, as a lengthy, complicated process,” said John Hamilton,
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Trigence. “With the
Quickstart program we can quell some of the confusion in the market by offering
Fortune 1000 companies and ISV partners a proven way to evaluate how they can
incorporate virtualization into their larger data center and application
management initiatives and arm with them with the right resources and
technology to get it done.”
Trigence’s solution encapsulates and separates applications
and their underlying dependencies from the associated operating systems to
dramatically improve application manageability and eliminate the need for
application reconfiguration or reinstallation to move, migrate, or update
applications. Once an application is placed in a Trigence Capsule, it becomes a
discrete manageable application object. When applications are isolated and
decoupled from infrastructure in this way, a new approach to application
management is available, allowing a version of an application to be moved to
another version of the same operating system.
