Overnite Chooses Web Access Management Software From RSA
Apr. 22, 2004 12:00 AM
RSA Security announced today that Overnite Transportation has converted to RSA ClearTrust software to manage user identities and secure customer access to online resources. Overnite Corporation is a leading provider of less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation, and the RSA ClearTrust solution will allow it, says the company, to continue to protect the integrity of its data while improving flexibility and scalability to support its growth initiatives. "Our online tools and services are helping to level the playing field for small businesses to succeed in a rapidly evolving marketplace," says Bill Madden, Overnite Transportation's senior manager of Web development. "In the three years since we defined our e-commerce vision, we have continued to add to our suite of offerings to enable that success. We will leverage the ClearTrust solution to continue to assist our customers," he adds. According to RSA, ClearTrust software is designed to be a primary component of any identity management system. It is intended to allow organizations to provide secure access to Web applications within intranets, extranets, portals and exchange infrastructures - with transparent, single sign-on access for a positive user experience. "Overnite's large user base, geographically dispersed operations and migration of mission-critical information and applications to the web represent a prime example of how identity and access management solutions can help a business grow and prosper," says John Worrall, vice president of worldwide marketing at RSA Security. "The cost and scalability benefits experienced by Overnite show how RSA Security's technology and services can help organizations securely leverage the power of the Internet to improve customer relationships and the bottom line." Worrall is one of the authors to be featured in Information Storage & Security Journal, SYS-CON Media's latest new title, launching this Fall with a sneak-preview issue already next month.
